A man with a shaved head smiles warmly, wearing a suit and tie.It is my honor to serve as the Superintendent of Abernathy ISD, a district where tradition, pride, and excellence go hand in hand. From the moment my family and I arrived, it was clear that Abernathy is more than just a place—it’s a community committed to its people and their success. My wife, Kelsea, is a dedicated Speech Therapist, and our son, Whitten, is proud to wear the Antelope maroon and white every day. Our youngest, Channing, may still be in daycare, but she already has the Antelope spirit.

With over a decade of experience in educational administration, I have developed a deep passion for servant leadership and building strong relationships. I believe leadership is about lifting others up—coaching people to be their very best—because when our people grow, our students thrive. My vision for Abernathy ISD is rooted in continuing and building our school pride, making Abernathy the standard other districts look to, and ensuring we are competitive in every arena: academics, athletics, fine arts, and beyond.

In Abernathy ISD, we believe in developing well-rounded students who are prepared, confident, and grounded in integrity. We celebrate our traditions while pushing forward with innovation, so every student has the opportunity to succeed at the highest level.

I look forward to working alongside our staff, families, and community to make this year one of the very best in our storied history. Together, we will continue to set the standard for excellence.

Let’s make it a great year!

Go Lopes!
